Company asked for a review so will leave an honest one. I chose specifically the out of city 3hs drive as it was promoted in their website as “full speed fun”. I made it clear when talking to Felix i am here for the driving experience and really wanted to avoid standing still in city traffic, so I wouldn’t want to do the city tour. Was promised we will go out of the city and avoid the center so will be great. The little cars are great and the road out of the city are great too. The tour guide was Lina. The driving itself was on the slow side. Nothing remotely fun was allowed at any point in time. Before even starting the rules were made clear: You are not allowed to turn the wheel left or right to test steering at any time, even in the parking lot. You are not allowed to pass anyone, ever. You are not allowed to change your spot in the line with the rest of the group, ever, during 3 hours, even after stops. If that was possible, at least you could talk to other people who are on the back of the line and socialize. I was forced to stay at all times right at the front with the guide Lina and stop next to her at every traffic light. I tried to make conversation with her, at least pass the time and maybe make a new friend. Tried talking about cars, she was not interested at all. About german language, not interested, or about the places we were going to. Didn’t get any conversation back from her. During 3 hours, she didn’t ask my name or where i am from or showed any interest in any kind of conversation. I wanted to go to the back of the group so at least i could speak to other people who are genuinely interested in talking. But despite asking, i was not allowed. Just “Nein”. No reason given. I was only able to briefly socialize in the 15 min break at the lake with the other people in the group. There was a very friendly couple but i couldn’t talk to them the rest of the time as they were on the back of the group. Even though it was supposed to be in the roads outside of the city, we came back to the city center 1 hour early. I thought “well this is finally over”. But nope. According to the guide “we arrived early so we will make time in the city center”, so we spent the last hour sitting in the traffic in the middle of the city, with random passerbys taking pictures of us, which is exactly what i was trying to avoid. I asked if could go home early myself while the rest of the guys stay there. “Nein”. I got the impression the guide is more interested in bringing new customers by getting random people take pictures, than the actual paying customers in the tour. The maximum interaction I got from the guide at the end was when i gave her a free burrito and she said “thanks for the burrito”. That was all. It’s a shame because i would have been a happy repeat customer if the experience was more fun or social in any way. For reference I’ve done multiple trips in and across europe, from gokarts to supercar rallies, from public roads to trackdays. I am even an investor in a car club and would have happily discussed buying a couple of these little cars. Constructive suggestion: This could have easily been a 5 star experience with at least ONE of the following: Make the driving a tiny less restrictive so at least one can get a smile to remember OR get a slightly sociable guide who genuinely enjoys talking to new people OR at the very minimum, allow switching places so i can talk to the people in the back and make friends while the guide does their own thing. But with all of these absent, it was just boring. Edit: Thanks for the response. Even though safety is totally understandable (Thankfully I never had any accident across many trips in Europe in public roads, and i’ve been driving for about 30 years), there are ways to make the experience fun while still being safe. There’s no excuse for having to sit 3 hours next to someone who doesn’t want to talk to you.

We were a group of six and it was a lot of fun! You drive past Munich’s sights, or on a three-hour tour, you also go out into the countryside to a lake. Helmets are provided by the organizer. At the beginning, you get a short briefing, and the guide drives ahead to make sure no one gets lost (shout-out to Pauline!).

Both were incredibly friendly, relaxed, and highly professional from the start. We felt completely at ease the entire time. Their easygoing manner and interesting information made the tour truly special. The route was varied, the organization was top-notch, and the driving fun was guaranteed. Whether you’re a local or a tourist – this is how sightseeing should be! For us, the tour was definitely one of the highlights of our visit to Munich. From the very first moment, he was incredibly friendly, warm, and at the same time, absolutely professional. Before we took off, he calmly explained everything to us, pointed out the important things, and made sure that each of us felt safe and well-prepared. And that’s saying something for me: I’m usually a bit of a scaredy-cat ? and quickly start worrying about whether I’ll really get everything right. But Paul, with his relaxed and confident manner, managed to put me completely at ease. You can tell immediately that he knows what he’s doing – and is genuinely enjoying himself. … Throughout the entire tour, Paul kept a wonderful eye on our group. He guided us expertly, was attentive, humorous, and always available, without making the tour feel “guided” in any way. Instead, we could simply relax, have fun, and enjoy the day. This was my second time participating in the tour, and I was thrilled once again. Leo was a fantastic road captain. It was an extraordinary experience – I highly recommend it. We were a group of four and joined ten other participants for the tour through Munich: Tal, Leopoldstrasse, Nymphenburg, and more. The cars have exceptionally direct steering, which you quickly get used to.

The ride in the hot rod cars was an absolute highlight. Even indoor karting can’t top this very special experience. Exploring Munich from 50 cm above the ground and right in the middle of normal traffic is simply fantastic. What an awesome way to explore Munich and the surrounding areas! On our very first day in Munich, we saw the Hot Rod cars driving around and immediately knew we had to book the tour — and we’re so glad we did! The cars are fast, ridiculously fun, and such a unique way to see the city. Our guide, Lino, was fantastic. He made sure we all understood how to operate the cars before we set off and kept a close eye on everyone throughout the ride. It can’t be easy making sure a whole group drives safely, keeps together and has a great time, but he absolutely smashed it! Such a fun experience and definitely one of the highlights of our time in Munich. Would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting! ?️???

Great experience – can only recommend to enjoy when you are in town. Cannot judge other tour guides but we were driving with Conny – she introduced us quickly and efficiently to the cars, chose a very scenic tour through Sunday morning Munich and always had eyes on the back of her head to wait if traffic lights parted the group – very good job. What a ride – lasting fun!

A beautiful summer Saturday morning, father and son set off to redeem the father’s birthday present: A hot rod tour to Lake Starnberg. A warm welcome at headquarters, the guides (Stefan and Florian) are in high spirits and brimming with enthusiasm, their excitement infectious. A quick briefing on the tour’s itinerary, the operation of the rods, hand signals, and the expected behavior of the group. A short test drive, and then we’re off. Just 10 cm above the asphalt, every bump makes its way from our backsides to our skulls, the wind in our faces, the direct steering demanding our full attention. Right in the middle of city traffic, the hot rod pack makes its way south. Finally out of the city, we hit the gas and speed along the country road, “Booooorn to be wiiiiiiiild” playing in our heads. A break in Schäftlarn, a quick restroom stop… onward, onward, onward. Next stop: Lake Starnberg. Before that, curves, tight, fast, left, right. Yippee! A quick stop at the lake, selfie, a drink, sorting out the bones, massaging the grin off my face. When do we finally get going again? Back on country roads, enjoying the view of nature, full throttle again, curves, parallel to the highway. Hello Munich, good to be back. Past the hermitage, up to the Tierparkberg (animal park hill). WRRRRRRRUUUUUUUMMM. Box, box, box. Quick refuel – the lollipop is going off. Final sprint. Back at HQ, the adrenaline is still pumping. Two happy individuals leave the scene of the action and book the 5-hour XXL tour to Bad Tölz from home. So awesome, thanks, see you soon!

Amazing experience and highly recommended! The hot rod tour through Munich was a real highlight. The vehicles are incredibly fun, have a cool sound, and offer a completely different driving experience than anything you’ve ever experienced before. It was especially wonderful to experience Munich from a completely new perspective. Even if you know the city, driving so close to the asphalt through the streets is something else entirely. Honestly, I don’t know if I booked a hot rod tour or if I accidentally made the best decision of my entire life. And the reason for that has a name: Lino. From the very first second, it was clear: Without Lino, it would have been a cool tour. With Lino, it became an event that will probably be mentioned on my tombstone. Lino didn’t just lead a tour. No. Lino guided us through Munich with a blend of charm, professionalism, and an almost unnerving perfection, as if he had spent his entire life preparing for this very moment. You got the feeling that this man woke up that morning and thought to himself, “Today I’m going to give people the best day of their lives again.” And then there were the photos. I don’t know what Lino does for a living when he’s not leading hot rod tours, but secretly, he must be a world-famous photographer. The pictures he took of us were so good that for a moment I thought I’d accidentally booked a GQ photoshoot. Every angle perfect. Every photo crystal clear. Every pose captured at precisely the right moment. With a precision and experience as if he’d been doing nothing else since birth. As if he’d dedicated his entire life to making people look better on hot rods than they already do. And then there’s the fact that Lino was incredibly likeable, charming, and, on top of that, incredibly handsome. It’s truly unfair that one person can be so competent, friendly, funny, photogenic, and professional all at once. The tour itself was fantastic, but let’s be honest: I had so much fun because of Lino. Every laugh, every good vibe, every perfect photo stop, every memory of that day bears his signature. I’ve traveled a lot and done a lot of activities, but I can say without exaggeration: This was one of the best days of my life—and it’s all thanks to Lino. If you’re thinking about booking this tour: Do it. If you have the choice to ride with Lino: Do everything in your power to ride with Lino. Reschedule appointments. Cancel weddings. Did the hot rod tour while in Munich for a stag do and it was the highlight of the trip. Cora was a brilliant host — friendly, funny, and clearly knows the city inside out. The cars are an absolute riot to drive, and following her around Munich in convoy got plenty of grins and waves from people on the street. She kept the group sorted, the pace spot on, and pointed out some great spots along the way. As someone who’s a bit fussy about cars, I had a great time. Highly recommend if you want to do something different in Munich — book it.

Anyone who loves cars should definitely try it. These guys are excellent at customer service and customer focus: I asked for a specific kart, and they provided it. The route is well-planned, with breaks for rest. Hurry up and try a proper kart with an internal combustion engine before they’re replaced by soulless electric karts.

The two guides were very friendly and funny, and the two hours flew by. I can recommend this event/excursion to anyone who wants to experience a slightly different kind of vehicle. Driving hot rods is a bit like go-karting; you feel every bump in the road, and it’s an awesome feeling. Driving the hot rods is incredibly fun and addictive, whether in the city or the countryside, whether cruising along at a leisurely pace or speeding at over 80 km/h. Myself and my wife booked this last week and thoroughly enjoyed it, we drove around Munich for two hours with five other people under the guidance of Conny who was amazing at looking after us and explaining everything. Pauline was awesome and gave us a hybrid city/country tour. This isn’t a tour in the conventional sense – rather a guided drive. At least during the business of Oktoberfest I would recommend the country side option more. You get to see Bavaria but also it’s more comfortable at speed. The cars are very rudimentary so make sure your butt and spine are ready for it.

There were eight of us there and we had a fantastic afternoon. The hot rods are truly a highlight; the sound is fantastic, and if you venture out of the city a bit, they really go for it. Only reason they get a 5 is because 10’s not available. From the moment we got there and welcomed, to the excellent instructions on how to operate the cars as well as how to proceed out on the street safely as a group. Cars were tuned and maintained like fine machines. Tom was an amazing guide, thorough with instructions and competent and always paying attention to the group out on the streets . Don’t think this is just a putt putt around the city little tour. You need to pay attention to traffic and be aware of your surroundings as your driving right in the middle of it. Truley one of the highlights of our Munich Trip. The one thing we will absolutely do again if we return Fred Burke

Unfortunately, it’s anything but “fun.” The vehicles are extremely loud, stink of exhaust fumes, and make it clear every day that consideration for residents isn’t a consideration. It’s simply incomprehensible why such a nuisance has to be introduced into residential areas – just so a few people can have a little “fun.” While kart tracks have long since switched to quiet and clean electric karts, here they continue to rely on old combustion engines. The result: unnecessary noise, stench, and frustration for anyone who doesn’t participate voluntarily. Anyone planning a bachelorette party or corporate event should choose something that brings joy without simultaneously compromising the quality of life of others.

At the beginning of August, we were able to take the Country Tour with Conny, our super-friendly guide, in Munich. Conny welcomed us very warmly and gave us excellent instructions so we could get started safely. After a beautiful cross-country drive towards Starnberg, we relaxed back to the Werksviertel region after a nice stop at a beer garden. Big praise to Conny for this day. Thank you so much for that.

In mid-August, we took the Country Tour with Hot Rod Fun Munich in glorious weather with our guide, Conny. It was an incredible experience with a 100% fun factor. Conny gave us a warm welcome, then introduced us to the technology of the hot rods, and after a short test drive in the underground garage, we were off. It’s so much fun to zip through Munich and then along the country roads in these speedy cars. After a refreshment in the beer garden, we headed back to the Werksviertel district – a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon! Thanks to Conny for the excellent support and this fantastic experience! A very cool event, with heart and soul from the organizers. Everyone is so friendly and cheerful that the soapbox tour is twice as much fun as expected. A very fun experience! In a convoy, you’ll cruise through Munich (or Hamburg) with a go-kart feel. The instructions are clear, the “operation” is also good, and the guides are friendly and humorous. Almost all of Munich’s “relevant” spots are covered. €130 (+€15 for downgrading the deductible in the event of an accident from €2,500 to €500) for 2 hours seems reasonable. The HotRod container/location is a bit difficult to find, but it’s manageable if you ask. If you want to do something completely different, this is the perfect option!

The ride in the hot rods was definitely fun – a special feeling on the road, the tour through Munich was beautiful and generally worth the experience. Unfortunately, our experience was severely marred by technical problems. The guide was driving a new hot rod model that repeatedly broke down halfway through the tour. We had to pull over to the side of the road several times, sometimes pulling into a courtyard, and even blocking a driveway while he tried to repair the vehicle. Ultimately, his hot rod broke down completely in a tunnel at a very unfortunate location – a dangerous situation, especially since we were traveling with six vehicles in a row. After about ten minutes, a support vehicle from the organizer pulled up and drove ahead of us, allowing us to drive back to the station in convoy. The constant breakdowns unfortunately significantly dampened the experience. If new vehicles are used, the organizer should test them thoroughly beforehand – otherwise, the entire tour suffers.

We (4 people) booked the 2-hour tour through Munich and there were 6 people plus the guide. The weather was perfect: sun and no rain. We were really well informed about everything we should pay attention to and take into account. The tracks/gullies/unevenness in the asphalt are noticeable. If you have back injuries, it’s best to speak to the team beforehand. I personally found the shaking amusing. The brakes/gasoline/steering are responsive. At 1.70 m, I was able to get into the vehicle and reach the pedals easily. Although the brakes did require more force to operate. I think you should be able to drive well and not be unsafe. The vehicles are loud and I think that’s a good thing because we, small road users, could be heard by other drivers and they were considerate of us. So for me, the engine sound also provides protection. I don’t think I would drive if they ran on electricity and couldn’t be heard at all. Lots of people took photos/films of us and we politely waved back. Will definitely book another tour across the country.

Events of this kind should definitely be banned in urban areas, and especially in rural areas; nothing remains except noise and stench. Events of this kind are completely out of date. A truly fantastic experience! The briefing is fantastic, and the test drive in the underground garage gives you a feel for how the little speedsters drive. This is such a fun and unique experience!!! For two hours, we drove around the streets of Munich and everyone on the street seemed so happy to see us pass by and maybe a little jealous that they weren’t doing it, too. The cars are super easy to operate and you get training beforehand as well. Our guide, Constantine, was SO FUN! He was always checking in on us to make sure everything was ok, he took us to a great spot for a mid-ride break and took photos of us, and he was just a super nice, genuine guy! I highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting Munich. It was SO FUN!

I booked the Schlagergarten special for myself and six friends for a bachelorette party. The 3-hour hot rod tour was a lot of fun for everyone. These motorized soapboxes drive completely differently than anything else you are used to. Very uncomfortable at first (especially because of the foot position), but you get into it. Entry to the VIP area of the Schlagergarten was the crowning conclusion to a successful day. I can only recommend it.

By chance we came across the Hotrodfun Munich website and gave it a try. The instructions were very good; the vehicles in very good condition; The route through the city was well chosen, so that a few months later we also took the second route to Lake Starnberg. The smell of gasoline and the drive through the countryside were great! The idea is so cool that we also did a trip like this in Frankfurt – so we’d like to look for it in different cities.

My son gave me the country tour to Lake Starnberg for my 70th birthday. We had a lot of fun, we really ? enjoyed it ??. The tour was led very professionally by Lou and we had a lot of laughs with her ?. The cars ?️ were lively and easy to drive, even in the tight city traffic of Munich. We had nice, laughing spectators on the side of the road who also had fun. It was even more fun out in the country, good speed, direct steering, CoKart feeling. We drove the 3h country event. Because we drove in the evening and were only a small group, we moved very quickly. Leo did an excellent job, despite the fact that it was his tour alone as a guide. After 2.5 hours we were back in Munich, but then we still drove half an hour through the city to get to the full 3 hours. Overall we were very satisfied and had negative points on the trip. A mega event that I can only recommend to everyone. If you like mini road trips with mini cars, you can’t go wrong here. You sit a hand’s width above the road, there is no suspension, no brake booster, no power steering and you still have a lot of fun. I surprised my girlfriend with a tour to Lake Starnberg and she was thrilled, even though she’s not a car fan. Thanks to the automatic transmission, the hot rods are super easy to drive, even if the 3-hour tour is strenuous. The employees are super friendly and also respond to individual requests. For example, I was allowed to attach my 360 degree camera to the hot rod (at my own risk, of course) in order to take a few photos. Due to the size of the group we got 2 tour guides, Pauline and Fabio. If you have the opportunity, be sure to grab the two tour guides. The two of them are super friendly, take good care of the group and give you a feeling of security, after all, you are the crumple zone in the car and if even just one Polo rushes past you, things can change for you. Overall, highly recommended and I will definitely do one or two more tours.

It was an all around great experience! We were really lucky with the weather, it was mostly cloudy but warm. After a very friendly welcome and a short briefing, the test drive began in the underground car park. Since everything went well and “learning by doing” is the best way to get into something, we went out on the road in a convoy. The city traffic took some getting used to at the beginning, but the reaction from passers-by was consistently friendly and positive. It was just a lot of fun, we were on the road for about 1.5 hours, including country roads at 70 km/h 😀 just great! We also took a break at a suitable place, exchanged experiences and, full of feelings of happiness, we continued with the greatest driving fun. Towards the end, we went to the gas station, where the little racing machines were properly fed again for the next trip. We booked the whole thing in conjunction with a BBQ grill course and I can only rave about it! The people were absolutely friendly and very competent. The food was super tasty, fresh and easy to eat. Despite several heavy downpours, we were able to escape indoors and it didn’t detract from our great day. A great event from start to finish and definitely worth the money. I would recommend it to everyone. Great team, great experience and the memory lasts forever! 🙂

We were there yesterday with a group of 12 people (fire brigade trip) and took a 2 hour drive through the city and it was great! Everyone had fun and our two guides (Pablo & Lennart) are cool guys and totally professional. We saw lots of beautiful spots and felt like a celebrity. Everyone films and takes photos? A successful change from everyday life. I and our small group of 5 vehicles really enjoyed the tour through Munich to various sights led by Jan. The weather was good and the hot rods stood out in traffic. A good idea from the organizer to get these vehicles on the road with TÜV certification. I wouldn’t have thought that this would be possible in bureaucratic Germany. A suspension on the hot rods would increase driving comfort. The residents would also like a noise reduction, but both of these counteract the individual appearance of the vehicles. Thank you for the idea of these vehicles and the long journey to get them on the road.

This was so much fun and easy to do. Our guide Lou was amazing and gave us detailed instructions and was always checking we were still behind her. The Hot Rods are clean and well maintained and we always felt safe. This was the first time we had done something like this and we were excited and nervous but felt comfortable very quickly. Did the 3 hour country tour. It was a lot of fun and there isn’t a bit of over-promising! We were able to fully extend the cars a few times and let the wind really blow in our faces. Of course you have to get used to the cars a bit first, but it goes pretty quickly and you can enjoy the ride. Lou led the tour really well and we always felt like we were in good hands with her. She explained everything very well, answered all questions and we didn’t feel unsafe for a minute. We will be back!

Driving these mini cars around town is pretty fun. Everyone turns around and cheers you. They have motorbike engines, so also quite good acceleration. They are, however, also noisy and stinky. You go around breathing polluted air for two hours. I believe it’s time for a new generation of these with electric engines.

Was extremely fun. I would have preferred to do another tour. Lou was super nice. The only drawback, which was a total no-go for me and really killed the fun: The guide should/wanted/had to use a car that still needs to be tested??! and something like that with paying customers during a tour… I have no idea what that means, this hot rod keeps getting greased. In total between 12 and 15x. Maybe you should do something like that if you’re not going on a tour with customers, but are doing a test drive at the same time. Very strange approach. If this doesn’t happen again, I will book a tour again.

We booked this tour on the occasion of a JGA. Our guide Viktor explained the hot rods to us in great detail and in a way that everyone could understand. We were allowed to get used to the hot rods in peace in the parking garage and then started our tour. I had a bit of trouble getting started, but Viktor solved that really well by stopping at the closest possible spot and waiting for me with the entire group. After about an hour we stopped at the Hofbräukeller and enjoyed a white sausage breakfast. We would do the tour again in exactly the same way, driving in traffic with such go-kart-like vehicles is just incredible fun! PS: I can’t understand all the negative reviews from residents. If you can’t cope with noise, you should consider moving from a city center to the countryside instead of trying to make life difficult for an entrepreneur. It’s definitely quieter there, I speak from experience 😉

Mega experience that everyone with a driving license should treat themselves to. Cruising through Munich 10cm above the asphalt and rediscovering the city at the same time. A very invigorating lap (I would have raced into a crowd at 100km/h without a guide) of the ride. The wind was extremely invigorating. (I should have put more on, my fingers would have fallen off.) The route we took showed me parts of Munich that I had never seen before (I thought being in Berlin would be a nightmare) all in all I can recommend Pauline as a guide. (Cute voice)

Really good fun, nice and rowdy but not dangerous at all. The vehicles were plenty powerful and handled well. the tour guide Fabio was great and very knowledgeable, and spoke English well. Hope to join you on another tour soon.

This was one of the most fun experiences I have ever done. We had a large group of us and we were looked after very well by the guys here. The hot rods are great fun to drive and it was a great way to see the city. This would be even more fun in summer with some sunshine but the cold didn’t spoil it!

My wife and I did the 3 hour Munich countryside tour in late October, the trees were changing and the scenery was beautiful. The hot rods are like a street legal go kart. It was an awesome experience to cruise through the country side and Felix was an amazing guide, if you are at all on the fence, do it!

If you’re double thinking of doing this, think no more. You should absolutely take one of these little cars for a ride. They have a great speed that gives you a nice go-kart feeling with precise control. Not to mention the tour guides. Felix and Victor were awesome, friendly and insightful. Thanks again, guys. We have been offering hot rod tours through Munich since 2017. There is a lot to see and experience in our residential city located at the river Isar. The architectural masterpieces from the Gothic, Baroque and Rococo periods alone are a real eye-catcher. These include the Frauenkirche, the Karlstor, our Viktualienmarkt and Nymphenburg Palace. Leopoldstrasse, the nightlife district of Schwabing and the English Garden as well as the Glockenbachviertel and Gärtnerplatz also represent Munich’s diversity. However, Munich not only stands for classic beauty, but also for progress and modernity. The BMW headquarters, the futuristic Hypo building as well as the football Allianz Arena.

Our station is located in the beautiful Berg am Laim district. The former industrial ground place Pfanni Werke was founded here in 1949 and the site was known as Europe’s largest dumpling kitchen. These production facilities have not been in operation for a long time. The site became the Kunstpark Ost close to eastern central station, Europe`s biggest club area in the 2000, nowaydays known as Werksviertel-Mitte. Located in the center of the Werksviertel-Mitte, we opened our new homebase at the Container Collective in 2020. The hot rods fit perfectly into the urban, yet ultra-modern ambience. The Werksviertel-Mitte cannot be missed, it is also home to the world’s largest mobile Ferris wheel with the beautiful Bavarian name Umadum.

After or even before a tour with our hot rods, you can enjoy all the benefits of the entire area, starting with the Dompierre French Bakery, the culinary offerings of Aloha Poke, Augustiner and many different restaurants and cafés. The Werksviertel-Mitte offers a large number of various concerts and events on the central place ‘Knödelplatz’ , stand up comedy at the Quatsch Comedy Club, as well as pubs and clubs. With the Hot Rod Fun Tours you will get the most out of your experience in Munich. The beautiful surrondings in Upper Bavaria are also worth visiting, especially lake Tegernsee or lake Starnberg are popular local recreation destinations.

On the Hot Rod Fun Country Tour, depending on the route, we are driving along the Würmtal valley and make a stop at the Schäftlarn Monastery. Other possible destinations in the surrounding area include Bad Tölz in the south of Munich, Wolfratshausen and Pullach. You can book a stopover at the Waldwirtschaft for some traditional bavarian food as part of special tours, through the serpentines at Schäftlarn Monastery, or for adventourous tours via Lenggries to Spitzingsee or even Kochelsee and up to Walchensee.
